Job Description

Director, Strategic Business Development – IQVIA Language Solutions

Europe-based | Business Development | Life Sciences & Healthcare

The opportunity

IQVIA Language Solutions is building the multilingual operating layer for global life sciences—bringing together healthcare intelligence, AI-enabled workflows, specialist human expertise and the reach of IQVIA. We are moving beyond traditional translation to help customers manage critical content safely and efficiently across clinical, regulatory, safety, patient and commercial workflows.

Join a growing, entrepreneurial commercial team and help shape the next generation of language solutions for healthcare. With IQVIA’s credibility and scientific expertise behind you, you will have the freedom to open new relationships and create solutions that traditional language providers cannot easily replicate.

As Director, Strategic Business Development, you will be a senior individual contributor and visible growth leader. You will own net-new business across an assigned EMEA market or account portfolio, lead complex pursuits through close, and position IQVIA Language Solutions as a strategic partner delivering faster global execution, lower workflow friction and stronger quality and compliance.

What you will do

  • Own and exceed an annual net-new bookings and revenue target across pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, CRO and healthcare customers.
  • Build and manage a high-quality pipeline through strategic prospecting, networks, events and collaboration across IQVIA, supported by focused territory and target-account plans.
  • Lead consultative discovery with senior stakeholders and translate customer challenges into differentiated solutions across clinical, regulatory, safety, patient, medical and commercial workflows.
  • Position AI-enabled, human-assured and expert-led delivery models according to content risk, required assurance and customer outcomes.
  • Own the full sales cycle—from qualification and opportunity strategy through proposal, negotiation, contracting and handover—including strategic RFI, RFP and proposal-defense activity.
  • Build executive relationships and influence complex buying committees by clearly articulating IQVIA’s value in workflow integration, scientific expertise, quality, compliance and speed.
  • Partner across Presales, Account Management, Delivery, Technology, Quality, Finance, Pricing, Legal and Marketing to create commercially sound, operationally viable solutions.
  • Create both standalone Language Solutions opportunities and integrated pursuits within broader IQVIA offerings, while bringing market insight back to offering and technology teams.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and forecasts, and represent IQVIA Language Solutions through relevant events, campaigns and thought leadership.

What success looks like

  • A healthy, qualified pipeline that converts into new logos, new buying centers and larger strategic opportunities.
  • Consistent quota achievement, strong win rates and reliable forecasts supported by disciplined opportunity management.
  • Executive-level relationships and more integrated IQVIA opportunities that demonstrate measurable customer impact beyond translation fulfillment.

What you bring

  • Proven success in enterprise business development or strategic sales, with consistent achievement of net-new revenue targets.
  • Strong experience selling to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, CRO or healthcare organizations.
  • Localization, multilingual content or regulated-content experience is strongly preferred; adjacent life sciences technology or professional services experience will also be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to open new accounts and buying centers and progress complex, multi-stakeholder opportunities from discovery through close.
  • Fluency in consultative, value-based selling and the credibility to influence senior and executive stakeholders.
  • Commercial acumen across proposals, pricing, negotiation, contracts, competitive positioning and forecast management.
  • Curiosity about AI and localization technology, with the judgment to balance automation, human expertise, quality, security and compliance.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, resilient approach suited to a fast-evolving environment; ability to travel within Europe and internationally as needed.

Why join IQVIA Language Solutions?

You will join at a pivotal point: the team is scaling its commercial organization, broadening into new life sciences workflows and building a more connected, technology-enabled portfolio.
