As an incumbent supporting our customer’s enterprise IT operations, you bring essential knowledge that strengthens continuity, accelerates transition success, and drives innovation. By joining CIS, you can continue the work you excel at while gaining new opportunities to grow in modernization, engineering, automation, and enterprise‑level operations. Your experience matters here, and we’re committed to investing in your success as you continue supporting a mission that relies on your expertise.

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) supporting CIS, you will ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of critical enterprise systems across multiple networks and environments. Your work strengthens operational stability, reduces downtime, and improves the user experience across a large, complex infrastructure.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and tech‑refresh teams to analyze recurring incidents, prioritize improvements, and guide the rollout of reliable new features
  • Apply Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC), automation, and DevSecOps practices to improve consistency, efficiency, and reliability across environments
  • Integrate engineering and operations workflows to enhance service reliability, reduce downtime, and ensure stable system performance
  • Design, implement, and support highly scalable, resilient, and fault‑tolerant services and infrastructure components
  • Bridge the gap between traditional engineering and operations by optimizing system architectures for scalability, performance, and reliability
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks that may impact system performance, availability, or user experience
  • Monitor systems using alerts, logging, ticketing data, and performance indicators to maintain system health and minimize disruptions
  • Partner with operations teams to reduce Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR) and ensure rapid, effective response to service issues
  • Maintain and improve internal SRE tools, including those supporting troubleshooting, CI/CD pipelines, alerting, and cross‑team communication

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Clearance: Active TS/SCI with an active a Polygraph
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field, or 10+ years of relevant IT experience in lieu of a degree
  • Certification: Meet DoD 8140 Information Assurance Workforce certification requirements (e.g., CompTIA Security+)
  • Hands‑on experience with enterprise monitoring tools (e.g., SCOM, SolarWinds, AppDynamics, or similar)
  • Strong knowledge of system reliability practices, including high availability, performance tuning, automation, alerting, and troubleshooting
  • Experience supporting large‑scale, multi‑network infrastructure environments
  • Ability to interpret monitoring data, diagnose issues, and recommend improvements to stability and resilience
  • Strong communication, documentation, and coordination skills
  • Familiarity with ITIL/ITSM frameworks and change management processes is highly desired
